The Justyce Destany Border for The Legacy Blanket

As we age, we often contemplate the legacy we will leave to our loved ones. Will it be material possessions, cherished memories, cultural traditions, or perhaps a creation that expresses our unwavering love for them?

I began my design journey five years ago when I decided to create a legacy for my grandchildren by designing and naming a square after each of them. The project has culminated in the design of a border named after the latest grandchild, Justyce Destany for The Legacy Blanket. All twelve legacy squares, Marley Mae, Madux James, Macey Ann, Lauren Rose, Landyn Tahj, Kinnedy Nichelle, Jalen Stanley, Jalen Miles, Carter Jude, Brixton Carter-Lee, Olivia Grace and Brood of Angels, are used in the blanket. THIS PATTERN IS FOR THE BORDER ONLY.

The instructions for this border design are versatile, allowing you to complete a blanket of your choice using squares with 39 stitches on each side. You can also purchase an e-book with all 12 square designs, border, and instructions for The Legacy Blanket from my Ravelry and Ribblr shops.

  • 44″ x 57″ finished and blocked blanket size (If using more than 12 squares, the final dimensions will differ;
  • this border pattern is designed to be compatible for those who wish to add more squares to their blanket;
  • 12” squares, 39 sts per side;
  • 4 squares x 3 squares, with a 2 ½“ border;
  • US crochet terminology throughout;
  • intermediate skill level;
  • pattern uses: sc, hdc, BPhdc, hdc2tog, dc, 2dc-cluster, long dc, FPtr and 2dc-cluster cross-over stitch.
